Labor Law is one of the few areas of the law that was and still is often created by non-lawyers. The right to have a union representative present during an investigation is just such a law.

My relations to other people defines community, often politics with a little ā€œpā€.

Whether it be work and Weingarten Rights, the need for the widening of Skyline Boulevard, a land use decision outside my kitchen window or . . .

Somehow it seems inescapable that each individual, each of us, is in large part defined by our relations with others. Not so hard to see the interconnectedness we share, a little harder to accept how this defines each of us.

What around us grabs our attention? What can we ignore? How do we insert, or assert ourselves in these events, decisions, situations, relations? Or do we avoid them, are we silent? All of these decisions delineates and brings into focus who we are.

The Community pages are the relations I have chosen and those I wish to share with you. And yes, they do, I suppose give a kind of picture of me and what I have decided to pay attention to while here.

Really close to home is Skyline Boulevard. Everyday I drive on it and often I share it with a bike rider. In my Transportation class it was featured in this slide show.
